I hope you all had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break. I enjoyed spending time with my kids and getting caught up at home.

Your students are continuing to work hard in second grade and I am seeing some wonderful things.

Well next week is spirit week. Monday the color for our students is green. So have them dress green. Tuesday is a blast from the past.

Food drive also begins on Monday, send food all week.

Dear families,

It was wonderful to meet with all of you this week at conferences. Thank you for taking the time to talk about your children. We had an exhausting week that ended with a wonderful party, all the parent help was appreciated. Have a restful weekend and see you next week.

Just a note about the importance of having your student present this Friday October 1, for October count. Students will be allowed to wear sports attire that day and if all second graders are present in Mrs. Brakel's, Mrs. West's, and Mrs. Provencher's class we will celebrate with an extra afternoon extended recess.

Parents,

Monday is picture day, students may wear nice clothes.

Progress reports will go home next week in Friday Folders.

Homework was given today check planners.

Hello parents and students,

A reminder that students do not have school on Friday, and we will be taking our spelling tests, unit test, and book bags due on Thursday. Also we have an assembly on Thursday morning and map testing from 9:26-10:16. So please go to bed early on Wednesday and have a good breakfast Thursday morning.

Our current unit is the Human body and the test is October 1, 2010, plate projects will be due Sept. 30.

First month in the swing of things

Well we are now into September and the second graders should be getting a handle on the routine.

Remember they write in the planners every night and that is where you go to check for homework. Planners are in so please purchase them and have your student put them in the homework binder.

Math homework has begun. You need to pull that out of the book I gave you and send it back the next day completed. Otherwise the student does need to stay after school to complete, this is all homework not completed.

Reading logs are due every Friday and need to be logged for all four days to receive full 20 pt credit.

Ask your student what color light they had this week as many are now beginning to change them , make sure they know good behavior is important. Only those that have maintained a high level of behavior and green lights for 18 out of 20 weeks will get to have pizza lunch with me. Those with orange lights will be running laps and if your student has a red light you will get a note from them on Friday.

Tests are always Friday if you know you will be gone Friday send a note so I can give them the tests on Thursday.

Homework next week(subject to change) will be Homelinks, 2-1, 2-2,2-3,2-4. Spelling study, Tomas and the Library Lady unit test, reading log, new unit on India look for study guide Tuesday.

We have a new student tomorrow, so if you are the one to bring snacks we have 27 students.

Thanks to all my wonderful parents that took time to come to Back to School Night tonight. If you could not make it please be looking for an information pack to come home tomorrow night. Also look for book bags for the week, students should be doing 20 minutes of homework a night, do assigned work and use the rest of the time to read and log it on the log sheet.

Be studying for spelling test, reading test, and continent test on Friday.
